Hi all,

Thanks for your continuing support of Soft Solutions as your StorageCraft distributor. I had a catch-up the other day with Karl from the technical team at StorageCraft in Sydney, and got some StorageCraft roadmap information I think will be interesting to the techie amongst you.

StorageCraft are finally releasing a 64-bit WinPE recovery environment in the next month, which will rectify the Gen2 virtual guest and UEFI recovery issues. We know there have been numerous issues with Windows 8 systems where UEFI cannot be disabled, and newly created Gen2 guests are becoming the default.

The locally-developed backup monitoring tool Watchdog is about to step up a version and will be offered in Essential and Pro editions, and existing customers can still remain on an unlimited license. In addition to the new version of Watchdog, A51 Software, the developers of Watchdog, will be releasing new SQL and Sharepoint granular recovery tools that offer very similar functionality to StorageCraft Granular Recovery for Exchange.

Finally, StorageCraft’s upcoming vSphere plugin will offer greater ShadowProtect deployment options to virtual machines. This includes detection of newly created guests, and allowing for backup type and timings to be automated and client software deployed to guests.

Full details will be available as the new features come through, but give me a call if you would like to discuss this the StorageCraft roadmap in more detail now.

Regards,
