| An update about the StorageCraft brand from Soft Solutions, your value-added distributor of StorageCraft products.
Specifically developed for StorageCraft ShadowProtect environments by Watchdog Software Pty Limited in association with StorageCraft Asia Pacific, Watchdog enables medium to large businesses and IT consultants to monitor the status of ShadowProtect backups, and to automatically test that the backup of any server is restorable. A new edition called WatchDog Pro has been released which adds the ability to index multiple ShadowProtect image chains and search across those for specific files. Pro also has some additional reporting capabilities. The existing product has been renamed to WatchDog Essentials.
The licensing has changed
WatchDog has been selling in two license sizes, one for monitoring up to 50 physical, virtual or cloud servers and one for monitoring unlimited physical, virtual or cloud servers.
In the new model, WatchDog Essentials will sell as a 25-server license and WatchDog Pro will sell as a 100-server license. Anyone wanting to monitor more than 25 servers buys a Pro license, and you can add Pro licenses together if you or a customer want to monitor more than 100 servers.
The pricing has also changed
The new Essentials 25-server license is about 20 percent dearer than the old 50-server price, and Pro 100-server is slightly cheaper than the old unlimited-server license. We can still process orders for the old license sizes at old pricing until the end of November, however from 1st December only the new part numbers can be ordered.
What about existing licenses?
Current customers are now licensed for WatchDog Essentials for the term of their existing subscription.
Customers who want to upgrade to the functionality of Pro can wait till their expiry date and renew as Pro, or get a quote to upgrade earlier.

Customers who have an existing 50-server license can renew their subscription using the WatchDog Essentials 25-server part number and they will still be licensed for 50 servers for the subsequent 12 months.
Customers who have an existing unlimited license can renew their subscription using the WatchDog Essentials unlimited renewal part number and they will still be licensed for unlimited servers for the subsequent 12 months.

Customers need to choose whether to renew their subscription as Essential 25-server or Pro 100-server.
