Last week Soft Solutions went around the country and took our “Preparing for Data Breach” executive lunches to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Among the issues covered was how the new data breach reporting regime is impacting Australia and how that will be coming to New Zealand, probably next year. The risk to companies is not just the content being out there – like a recruitment company losing some control of candidate CV’s – but the public relations impact of it being KNOWN they lost data. GDPR was also reviewed – and how multinationals do care how their NZ partners handle data. We had great turnouts for all events from our partners, which turned into some great conversations around how IT companies can be helping their customers minimise the risks of a breach occurring and mitigating the impact if it does.
