This is an update giving you a quick summary of the MAX 2014 Conference held in the Gold Coast last week.

I’ll cover off some of the main highlights of the event below:

  • MAX RemoteManagement in 2014
  • MAX RemoteManagement The Road Ahead
  • MAX RemoteManagement Branding and Organisation Changes

MAX RemoteManagement in 2014

Right through 2014 we have seen major new features added to the MAX Remote Management dashboard. These new features continue to offer you more services to secure, maintain and protect your customers’ networks all from one single pane of glass dashboard. Main feature additions of 2014 include:

· App Control, a management tool designed to organise and simplify all of your clients Office 365 and Google App licences under the ‘Services’ tab of your dashboard.

· Web Protection for web security, web filtering and bandwidth monitoring.

· Mobile Device Management: Support for Windows Phone 8.1 is now also available in Beta making MAX RM the first tool to provide Mobile Device Management across all three major platforms, Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

· MAX MailProtection and MAX MailArchive integration into the dashboard allowing you to add cloud based mail filtering and mail archiving as an additional service to your client base from the one console.

MAX RemoteManagement The Road Ahead

But these new enhancements don’t just stop here. The MAX RM roadmap will see further enhancements with a facelift to the existing UI of the MAX RM dashboard coming this October. Further updates will include role based access control enabling you to assign only certain clients to engineers and sub-contractors working for you from the MAX RM dashboard. Further improvements will also be incorporated into the existing MAX apps available along with integration of automated device discovery using the powerful network scanning functionality from GFI’s on premise LanGuard solution. Vast improvements for the reporting of MAX RM are also scheduled along with the addition of Take Control for the OSX agent. Looking forward, 2014 and 2015 promise to be more productive than ever as the MAX team continue to invest, expand and grow in new and existing features of MAX RemoteManagement.

MAX RM Branding and Organisation Changes

From October 1st GFI will be splitting their Cloud services and on premise solutions into two separate business entities. All of the MSP MAX services: MAX Remote Management, MAX Backup, MAX MailProtection and MAX MailArchive will all be branded under LogicNow. This will include name changes within the MAX product range, new email addresses (logicnow.com) and a new web site (maxfocus.com). There will however be no change in the communication channel coming directly from MAX or Soft Solutions. Justifying the split of GFI into two separate organisations, GFI and LogicNow CEO Walter Scott advised “Creating two separate and focused businesses from one improves our operational effectiveness and enables us to maintain our industry-leading growth rates. Aside from that, it’s business as usual”. Read more about this organisational change in the official press release.

In summary, 2014 has seen major enhancements and new features added to its flagship MSP tool. This continued development, investment and innovation into their MSP toolset make MAX RemoteManagement officially the leading MSP community around the world with over 10,000 MSPs using MAX Remote Management globally. The IT partners who made the trip over to Australia found this an invaluable experience, not just from a technical perspective but also in helping them improve their MSP business strategy moving forward via networking with leading MSP providers in Australia and by sitting in on some of the many business seminars help at this year’s MAX 2014 conference. Just like our partners who attended this year’s conference, I hope you continue to experience consistent client growth and client retention in managed services using MAX Remote Management. Provisionally set for Melbourne next year, I hope to see you all next year for MAX 2015!

Cheers,

Tim Healy — Product Manager
